Tunic Game has received a lot of positive ratings

Tunic, one of the most anticipated indie games of the year, was released on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Role-playing adventure where you navigate a fantasy world in the best Zelda style with a little fox is doubly surprising.

Tunic is not only free-to-play for all subscribers as part of PC Game Pass – despite the developer’s previous denials – it’s also impressing with outstanding ratings from the international trade press.

Tunic inspires players and the press

At first glance, you can’t see the features of Tunic: The game is based on a low polygon view and is also extremely colorful and extremely cute. But presentation isn’t everything, of course, and even behind the NES-level pixel mess is occasionally a gaming masterpiece, as Loop Hero demonstrated last year:

The sophisticated gameplay mechanics that make the game look like a mix of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and Dark Souls are also convincing, especially with Tunic. The mix apparently works so well that it rains a lot of dream ratings from well-known websites like IGN, Gamespot or VG247.

On Metacritic, the PC version currently has an average rating of 87 after 39 registered tests. We have collected some selected voices from the international trade press for you.

Review Scores from Important Organizations

IGN-9/10

While he may look cute thanks to his deceptively cute, furry orange protagonist, Tunic makes it easy to prepare yourself for a fight. This is great Zelda-style gameplay for the Elden Ring generation, and mastering the nonstop clever campaign and challenging battles through careful study of the elusive yet intuitive gameplay instructions and deft use of the controller has given me a well-deserved sense of reward and fulfillment. will not soon forget.

GameSpot – 9/10

This is the kind of game you’ll buy because the packaging looks great and makes you eagerly flip through the manual on the drive home, not understanding it all, but still getting excited about the possibilities. When it comes to tunic, this big adventure lives up to expectations.
