Sony sees slight drop in PlayStation Plus subscriber count
Sony has observed a decrease in the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers. Could this be due to changes in PS plus subscriptions?

The number of PlayStation Plus users has grown tremendously over the years, but logically it fluctuates a bit. After all, not everyone has a permanent subscription, and now that the pandemic is more or less over, there are fewer (online) games as well. So it’s not surprising that Sony is seeing some decline in subscriber numbers.
At this time last year, the number of subscribers stood at 47.6 million, and the final figures dropped 200,000 users, bringing the number of active subscriptions to 47.4 million. The record number of subscribers reached at the end of last year is 48 million. So compared to the previous quarter, there is a decrease of 600,000 users.
Sony also found that attendance remained the same even after the world reopened after corona. So this is a positive trend. The company states that it also trusts the future of PlayStation Plus. Partly because of innovations that will be implemented from June when several PlayStation Plus subscription tiers will become available.
Finally, Sony announced that the number of monthly users on PlayStation Network is currently around 106 million.
