Rumor: Red Dead Redemption 2 current generation upgrade canceled
According to a rumor, the current generation upgrade possibility for Red Dead Redemption 2 is now very low.
Rockstar Games apparently had plans to remake Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV, but that was scrapped due to the disappointing launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. Meanwhile, Rockstar noted that it’s taking a step back in terms of online support for Red Dead Online as the focus shifts entirely to Grand Theft Auto VI.
Now it turns out that another project was trashed. Known Rockstar insider Tez2 reports that the developer plans to release Red Dead Redemption 2 on current-gen systems. But that plan is no longer viable as Rockstar Games will literally cancel or put on hold all plans they have.
In short, the chances of Red Dead Redemption 2 getting a current-gen upgrade are very small.
