Rockstar: ‘We want to exceed all expectations in GTA VI’

We still know very little about Grand Theft Auto VI, but it’s clear so far that Rockstar has removed all the stops and taken development to the next level. For example, the major studio will no longer release major updates for Red Dead Online, and remasters of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption have been dropped into the filing cabinet in favor of the next Grand Theft Auto.

Red Dead Redemption 2’s current-gen upgrade would also be discontinued, so everything could go to the sixth installment of the iconic franchise. Now, in a new blog post, Rockstar takes a closer look at what fans can expect in the coming period, specifically for Grand Theft Auto Online, such as Contact Missions and a host of tweaks to powerful weapons.

GTA 6 Isn’t Released Yet, But The Game Has Already Set A Record

The studio is also responding to the message that Red Dead Online will no longer receive major updates. The developer says they’ve been shifting more and more manpower to the development of Grand Theft Auto VI over the past year. Rockstar states that they understand that players need to exceed their expectations and that the next entry needs to be the best game possible. As a result, changes have been made to Red Dead Online’s support.

“Over the past few years, we’ve been continually pouring more development resources towards the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series – we understand more than ever the need to exceed gamers’ expectations, and more than ever to make sure the next entry is the best it can be. we understand more. — and as a result, we are in the process of making some changes to the way we support Red Dead Online.”
