Now Supports VRR in these 3 games

Spider Man: Miles Morales, Ratchet & Clank, and Resident Evil 8: Village now support VRR.

Sony announced last night that they will be releasing a firmware update for the PlayStation 5 that enables VRR. They also gave an overview of the games that will receive an update, and you can read earlier today that Insomniac Games has released one for Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Spin-off Miles Morales has now received an update (1.013) and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is also provided. Capcom has also been busy because an update is also available for Resident Evil 8: Village. Below the details per title where the patch notes are known.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

• 120 Hz Display Mode (together with system settings)
• • Reduces input latency
  • Increases frame rate target of Fidelity graphics mode to 40 fps
• Support for VRR via system settings
  • When 120 Hz Display Mode is off, slightly increases dynamic resolution targets
  • When 120 Hz Display Mode is on, unlocks frame rate to vary based on gameplay
• Improvements to ray-traced reflection quality at glancing angles in low-dynamic-resolution scenarios
• Improvements to TAA upsample quality

Resident Evil 8: Village

• Adds Variable Refresh Rate Support for the PS5 version
