343 Industries is delaying the release of the mod as it needs more time to develop a “quality 4-player co-op experience”. As a result, the mod will no longer be released at the beginning of Season 2.
The developer also reveals that the 2-player co-op split-screen experience for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S is under construction, but will take a little longer in development due to some “unforeseen hurdles”.
Initially, the Halo Infinite campaign was said to get a co-op mode by May 2022 at the earliest, but that date will be delayed by 2-3 months.
