Genshin Impact Update 2.7 delayed indefinitely
Genshin Impact update 2.7 has been delayed indefinitely. Developer MiHoYo announced this via his Twitter account.
MiHoYo offers no explanation for the delay beyond the implicit statement that development of the update is slower than expected.
“Version 2.7 update is being delayed due to the progress of the process,” the developer said in a tweet. “More details about the new update, the new timing of more content, and compensation will be provided in future announcements. We will provide more information to Travelers as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your support and understanding.”
Due to project progress, the Version 2.7 update will be postponed.
For detailed information on the date of the new update, content adjustment plan, and compensation, please stay tuned for upcoming announcements.#GenshinImpact pic.twitter.com/FiiGQyJO1G

The delay is probably related to the current situation in China. There are several major cities, including Shanghai, in an extremely strict COVID lockdown. MiHoYo is based in Shanghai.
The developer recently opened a new branch in Montreal, Canada. In two years, 100 employees will be hired there to work on a new high-budget open-world action adventure game. This game would be a shooter in a world with paranormal elements.
