CoD Modern Warfare 2: First teaser has two hidden clues

The COD developers from Infinity Ward have also unveiled the logo for this year’s episode, and hence the final title: Modern Warfare 2, which will be the name of the shooter denoted by a stylized “MIIW” in the logo.

Moments after the animated footage was posted online, fans have uncovered hidden clues to Modern Warfare 2’s setting and plot.

Note 1: Task Force 141

If you stop the animation at a certain point, the Task Force 141 icon will be visible for a second. So it’s been confirmed that the special unit will return and likely play a bigger role in the plot of Modern Warfare 2. Longtime fans of the MW series can look forward to seeing old friends again.

What is Task Force 141? The multinational specialty unit has played an important role in the MW series since the first part of 2007. Founding members include Call of Duty 4 protagonist John “Soap” MacTavish and Captain Price, one of the most iconic characters in CoD history.

In the original 2009 MW2, Task Force 141 was betrayed by US General Shepherd and several members were killed. From that moment on, he worked autonomously. At the end of the 2019 MW reboot, Task Force 141 will be reinstalled.

Note 2: Singapore

Coordinates 1.3521° North, 103.8198° East were also discovered. As COD expert Tom Henderson found out on Twitter, they show off the location of Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands Resort – an iconic building in the Southeast Asian island nation made up of three different skyscrapers and a rooftop green space. So far, insiders have been talking about a drug cartel scenario in Latin America.

It is not yet known to what extent this location will play a role in Modern Warfare 2 and to what extent. But Henderson explains that in early footage from MW2 he saw a soldier climbing a very similar tall building facade, and provides a screenshot from CoD Ghosts for comparison:

Unprecedented rush for a logo…

The appearance of the Modern Warfare 2 logo caused a stir on social media: Within minutes of the post, the hashtag #ModernWarfare2 was among the most popular trends on Twitter.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (2022) Release Date Announced?

Among other things, it’s remarkable how quickly the post went viral: while the gameplay demo for its predecessor, CoD Vanguard, has only landed just under 34,000 likes to date, the animated logo for MW2 (notice it without gameplay) comes to 134,000 afterward. Less than 24 hours of likes

Much more is known about Modern Warfare 2 than just the logo: Thanks to leaks and insider information, we have a pretty accurate picture of what the new COD will look like!

Modern Warfare 2: Information about setting, story, multiplayer
Both the excitement and the pressure on the new COD must be huge: in 2023, for the first time in almost two decades, there will be no new COD part. Instead, Activision wants to continue providing content and extending its lifecycle for the new Modern Warfare 2.

Modern Warfare 2019 is the most successful main game of the entire CoD brand to date, with record sales exceeding $1 billion in its first two months.
