Blizzard announces Overwatch 2 beta start date

Overwatch 2 was announced at the end of 2019, but then went pretty quiet for a long time throughout the sequel to the popular hero shooter. However, development seems to have shifted into a slightly higher gear now. Blizzard recently announced that a closed beta is coming. Now the developer has also announced when it will launch.

The closed beta of Overwatch 2 will begin on April 26. To be clear, this is a PC-only beta. You can start the beta with 5v5 PvP multiplayer on four new maps. You can also test out the new hero Sojourn alongside the ‘Push’ mode introduced in Overwatch 2. As mentioned, this is a closed beta, so only lucky people who get an invite will be accepted. You can still sign up for the beta via this website.

This closed beta certainly won’t be your only chance to get a taste of Overwatch 2 right now. Blizzard has already announced that more beta testing will take place later this year that will also introduce new features, maps, and heroes.
